How to Create a Free Email

For those wishing to create an account from home we provide the following step by step process.

1. Go to www.gmail.com and click on the “Create an Account” button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
2. This should take you to a page that asks for your name as well as the username and password you would like to use for the email account.  If the username you have chosen is already being used by someone else, gmail will make some alternative suggestions.  Feel free to use the suggestions or come up with another username of your own choosing.
3. Be sure to write down (and keep in a secure location) both the user name and password that you use, as you will need both of these to access your account later.
4. Once the requested information has been provided, click the “Next Step” icon at the bottom right of the screen text.
5. The next screen will explain that you have a Google Account and how to create a profile.  Creating a profile can be done at any time.  Click the “Next Step” icon when you’re ready.
6. The final page is the welcome page, thanking you for creating an account.

To check your gmail go to www.gmail.com, enter your user name and password where it asks you to sign in and go from there. Don’t forget to sign out when you leave!
